Carol A. (Walden) de la Vega, age 80

Carol A. (Walden) de la Vega, age 80, of Center Harbor, N.H., formerly of Holbrook, died peacefully, Thursday, April 20, 2023 at home, surrounded by her family.

Carol was born in Quincy, to the late Lawrence R. Walden and Theresa C. (Haefner) Walden. She was a former longtime resident of Holbrook where she raised her children. She lived in Center Harbor, N.H. for the past twenty-two years.

Carol was an avid gardener, a voracious reader, and a lover of animals. Her home always had roses, cats, and the daily paper. She passed on her love of animals to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Ciro de la Vega, Sr.

She dedicated her life to raising her children: Michelle de la Vega of Gójar, Spain, Brian de la Vega and his girlfriend Stephanie Marsh of Rumney N.H., Michael de la Vega and his husband Jim Gould of Marshfield, and Ciro de la Vega, Jr. and his wife Katelyn Kneeland of Amesbury.

Loving grandmother of Ashley Medas and her husband Brent of Alexandria, N.H., and Jaydin Marsh, Christopher Nadeau, Jack Michael Rothman, and Trinity Michelle Rothman, all of Rumney, N.H.

Aunt of Julianne Walden of Quincy and Lawrence Walden of Foxboro.

She was predeceased by her brother, Lawrence R. Walden, Jr.

Visiting hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Wednesday, April 26, from 5 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Carol’s interment will take place privately at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy.
