Christopher G. Lally, age 67

Christopher G. Lally, age 67, of Quincy, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Saturday, April 19, 2025 at South Shore Hospital.

Christy was born in Galway, Ireland, to the late Margaret (Giles) and Patrick Lally. Raised and educated there, he immigrated to the United States in 1984, arriving in Boston. He lived in Quincy for over thirty years.

Christy was a skilled carpenter who apprenticed and perfected his trade in Ireland. He worked for Gillette in South Boston for twenty-five years and retired in 2002.

He was a longtime patron of Paddy Barry’s Irish Pub in Quincy and had made many lasting friendships over the years.

Christy and his wife were dedicated supporters of the United Way. He was also a proud and avid gardener and enjoyed tending to his many flowers, plants, and lawn.

Beloved husband for forty-two years to Norah P. Connolly-Lally.

Devoted father to Shane Lally of Quincy, Kyle Thomas Lally of Quincy and his fiancée Anna Fuller of Weymouth, and the late Ross Martin Lally.

One of thirteen siblings, he was the dear brother to Sean and Noreen Lally; Padraig and Marie Lally; Annette and Pat Naughton; Marina Lee; Philomena and Marty Davoran; Coleman and Dorothy Lally; Brendan and Margaret Lally; Tommy and Rita Lally; Margarita and Bart Keane; Theresa and Kenneth Kelly; Dominic and Siobhan Lally; and the late Matthew Lally all of Ireland.

Dear brother-in-law to John and Breda Connolly; Sarah and James McGauley; and Paul and Barbara Connolly.

Loving uncle to the late Lisa Lally, and he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors.

Memorial Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Monday, April 28, from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy, on Tuesday, April 29, at 11 a.m. The Mass will be livestreamed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4SqXF7aLsk.
