Daniel F. Collins, age 83, a former longtime resident of Quincy, died peacefully, Friday, May 8, 2026 at The Current South Shore in Weymouth, surrounded by his loving family.

Danny was born in Quincy, to the late Daniel P. and Mary F. (McInnis) Collins. He was raised and educated in Quincy, and lived there for most of his life.

Danny was employed as a warehouse manager for the Stop & Shop Supermarket Company and had been retired for many years. As a younger man, he worked for Quincy Elder Services driving seniors.

He was a former member of the Adams Heights Men’s Club in Quincy.

Danny was an avid walker and enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family.

Husband of the late Linda J. (Campbell) Collins and former husband of the late Regina M. (Chiavaroli) Gallagher.

Father of Karen J. Sims and her husband William of Englewood, Florida, Kimberly M. Connolly of South Weymouth, Gina A. Patete and her husband Tony of East Bridgewater, Amanda M. Pfistner and her husband Sean of Quincy, and the late Danielle K. Collins.

Grandfather of Brittany, Jessica, Bridget, Jack, Anthony, Ava, Jacob, Abigail, and Sean.

Great grandfather of Haley and Leo.

The last of four siblings, he was predeceased by Edward J. Collins, Jean C. Collins, and Eleanor C. Kelsey.

Danny is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

At the request of the family, interment took place privately at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
