David C. Purdy, age 81, a longtime resident of Quincy, died peacefully, Sunday, August 11, 2024 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.

David was born, raised, and educated in Waltham.

He was proud to have served with the 529th Signal Company in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict.

David worked as a lineman for the New England Telephone Company and had been retired for many years.

He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Bruins. David loved fishing and golfing. He also enjoyed caring for, and spending time with, his dogs.

Beloved husband for forty-seven years of Deborah M. (Goulart) Purdy.

Devoted father of Danielle M. Purdy.

One of six siblings, he was survived by his sister, Donna Martin, and predeceased by four sisters.

At the request of the family, funeral services were private.
