Doreen M. Lomasney, age 61

Doreen M. (Salvucci) Lomasney, age 61, of Whitman, died peacefully, Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 2:15 a.m. in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Doreen was born in Quincy, to the late Charles T. and Yolanda (DiFederico) Salvucci. Raised and educated in Weymouth and Hull, she was a graduate of Hull High School. She lived in Whitman for twenty-five years, previously in Weymouth.

Doreen was a homemaker who was devoted to her family, especially her cherished daughters.

She enjoyed shopping, cleaning, painting her nails, watching reality TV, hosting friends and family at the pool, and spending time with her Shih Tzu Bichon, Daisy.

Beloved wife for twenty-six years of Edward J. Lomasney.

Devoted mother of Rachel L. Lomasney and Brianna M. Lomasney, both of Whitman.

Loving sister of Sherry M. Palumbo of Whitman.

Dear sister-in-law of Mary T. Lomasney of Braintree.

Doreen is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and their children.

Visiting hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Monday, August 28, from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish, 420 High Street, Dedham, on Tuesday, August 29, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. James Cemetery, Whitman.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Doreen’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.

  • I’m stunned and heartbroken. Many years have passed, but I have so many wonderful memories of Doreen, from pillow fights when we little, days at the beach, and her wedding day.
