E. Evelyn (Smith) Schaeffer, age 105, of Quincy and Littleton, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. She was laid to rest in a private graveside service, with her beloved husband, Dean, of seventy-four years at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.

She is survived by two daughters, six grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

The youngest of ten, Evelyn spent the first 101 years in Quincy, graduating from Quincy High School and Fisher College in Boston. She was an executive secretary working for the Navy, in Hingham, during WWII where she met Dean. She was also employed by General Dynamics in Quincy.

Ev and Dean truly were a loving couple, a team. Such an example for so many throughout their years together. Their family had their unconditional love and support. Such blessings.

She embraced family and friends with love and dedication. Sharing her lifetime experiences in her love of the Lord, and over the years embraced grandchildren and great grandchildren’s love with all her heart.
