Elsi Almonacid Maki, age 65

Elsi Almonacid Maki, age 65, of Braintree, died peacefully, Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, in the comfort of her loving family.

Elsi was born in Lima, Peru, to the late Rolando and Victoria (Ramirez) Almonacid. She was raised and educated there. Elsi immigrated to the United States in 1984, settling in Boston. She lived in Braintree for the past twenty-three years.

Elsi was employed as a quality control inspector in the medical products industry, and had also worked in customer service in the retail industry. She had been retired for several years.

Elsi loved the mountains and hiking. She was also an avid reader. Recently, she developed an interest in oil painting.

Most of all, she was devoted to her family, especially her husband and daughter. She enjoyed spending time with them, and supporting their activities and accomplishments.

Beloved wife for thirty-four years of John Maki.

Devoted mother of Michelle Victoria Maki of Braintree.

Dear sister of Arturo Almonacid of Stoneham, Enrique Almonacid of Braintree, Nelly Almonacid Chavez of Randolph, Carlos Almonacid of Sandwich, and Patricia Almonacid Sileski of Braintree.

Elsi is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Wednesday, August 3, from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, August 4, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
