Francesca Ranalli, age 96

Francesca (Poillucci) Ranalli, age 96, a longtime resident of Quincy, died peacefully, Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, surrounded by her loving family.

Francesca was born in Anversa degli Abruzzi, Italy, to the late Costanzo and Lucia (DelGreco) Poillucci. She was raised and educated there, and immigrated to the United States in 1966. She lived in Quincy for sixty years.

She was a homemaker but as a young woman had worked as a seamstress in the garment industry.

Francesca enjoyed gardening and cooking and was devoted to her family, especially to her cherished grandchildren.

Beloved wife of the late Costanzo Ranalli.

Devoted mother of twin sons, Serafino “Steve” Ranalli and his wife Rita of Quincy, Massimo “Mike” Ranalli and his wife Marisa of Braintree.

Loving grandmother of Cynthia Gage and her husband Adam, Brandon Ranalli, Adriana Mullen and her husband Shawn, and Robert Ranalli and his wife Kelly.

Cherished great grandmother of Gemma, Cecilia, Brooks, Michael, Cade, and Max.

Dear sister of Giuseppe Poillucci of Quincy, Maria Marinelli of Quincy, Cesidio Poillucci of Fla., and the late Domenic Poillucci. Francesca is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Sunday, March 29, from 2 – 5 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy, on Monday, March 30, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

For those who wish, donations in Francesca’s memory may be made to The Cooley’s Anemia Foundation. Checks should be made payable to “The Charitable and Educational Trust” and mailed to Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America, 85 River Street, Suite 2, Waltham, MA 02453.
