Harry William “Bill” Brooks, age 76, of Braintree, passed away, Sunday, June 21, 2026 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born in Somerville, to the late Dorothy A. (Lynch) and Harry A. Brooks. He was a graduate of Boston Technical High School, Class of 1967. Bill went on to enlist in the United States Navy where he served as a radio operator stationed in the Azores.

He married his loving wife, Elaine F. Casinelli, on May 1, 1971 and together they shared forty-nine years of marriage.

Bill worked for the United States Postal Service at the South Postal Annex from 1971 until his retirement in 2004.

Outside of his career, Bill enjoyed spending time with his beloved family.

Devoted father of William Brooks and his wife Amanda of California, Christine Mulkern and her husband Sean of Abington.

Loving grandfather of James Mulkern and Sean Mulkern, both of Abington.

He is missed terribly by his siblings: Robert Brooks and his wife Judith of Minnesota, Barbara Brooks of North Reading, Dorothy Tuttle and her husband Lee of Wilmington, Thomas Brooks and his wife Cheryl of Wakefield, Richard Brooks and his wife Karen of Missouri, and Gail McRae and her husband Leo of Plymouth.

Bill also was extremely loved by Elaine’s siblings: Diane Letizio and husband Albert of N.H., Janet Noble and husband Keith of Plainville, James Casinelli of Braintree, Michael Casinelli of Rockland, Joann Casinelli of Quincy, MaryAnn Casinelli-Tindall and husband Robert Tindall of Weymouth, and Patricia Dupere and husband David of Rhode Island.

Bill is also survived by twenty-eight nieces and nephews who loved him deeply, as well as many great-nephews, great-nieces, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
