James M. “Jimmy” McLaughlin, age 64

James M. “Jimmy” McLaughlin, age 64, a longtime resident of Quincy, formerly of Weymouth, died, Friday, January 3, 2025.

Jimmy was born in Boston, to the late James B. and Loretta (Peters) McLaughlin. Step son of Jean (Urquhart) McLaughlin. Raised and educated in Weymouth, he was a graduate of Weymouth South High School, Class of 1978. He lived in Quincy for forty years, previously in Weymouth.

He was the well-known owner and operator, with his late father, Jim, of Jimmy’s Tire in North Quincy for forty years, where they made many friendships.

Jimmy was a former Cub Scout leader and enjoyed the ocean, boating, the outdoors, Halloween, and camping.

He was dedicated to his family and friends.

Devoted father of James J. McLaughlin and his wife Ashley of Rensselaer, N.Y.

Loving grandfather of Ada.

Former husband of Ann-Marie Saia.

Dear brother of Sharon Richmond of Jupiter, Fla., John MacDonald of Marshfield, Kristen MacDonald of Fla., Douglas MacDonald of Quincy, and the late Debra Olsen.

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.

At the request of the family, funeral services were private.

For those who wish, donations in Jimmy’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
