Joan M. (Duffy) Giordani, age 92, a lifelong Quincy resident and proud Houghs Necker, died peacefully, Thursday, April 23, 2026 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Joan was born in Quincy, to the late Francis and Josephine (Walker) Duffy. Raised and educated there, she was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1951. Joan lived her entire life in her family’s Houghs Neck home where she and her husband raised their family. She and her husband were also a winter residents of Naples, Florida for thirty-five years.
She was a dedicated homemaker but as a young woman had worked as a secretary at Beneficial Finance for eighteen years and at the former Roy’s Flower Shop in Quincy.
Joan was a person of faith and a lifelong active parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Houghs Neck, where she served in various capacities and made many friendships. She was a member of the Ladies Sodality and was entrusted with the care of church linens for many years.
She also volunteered in various community affairs and as a former athlete, was instrumental in founding the girls’ church basketball league. Joan enjoyed baking, painting, knitting, and had a talent for arts and crafts.
Joan and many of her Houghs Neck friends, “The Birthday Girls”, enjoyed many wonderful luncheons and get-togethers over the years.
Most of all, Joan was devoted to her family, children, and grandchildren, actively supporting all their many activities and accomplishments.

Devoted mother of Mark F. Giordani and his wife Donna of Quincy, Jeff P. Giordani and his wife Tina of Norwood, J. Denise Lawless and her husband Billy of Quincy, the late Lynne C. Papalambros, her surviving husband Larry of Weymouth, and his fiancée, Marianne.
Loving grandmother of Lambros Papalambros, Joshua Giordani, Q.F.D. and his wife Alaina, Jessica Aikens and her husband Jim Aikens, Q.P.D., Matthew Giordani and his wife Caroline, Michael Giordani and his wife Julie, Jeffrey Giordani and his wife Jacqueline, Felicia Callahan, Q.P.D. and her husband Joseph, and Justin Lawless and his wife Kathleen.
Loving great grandmother of twelve with another great grandson on the way.
The last of five siblings, Joan was the dear sister of the late Francis Duffy, Rita Nugent, Grace Burbank, and Jack Duffy. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Joan’s funeral services took place privately. A Funeral Mass was celebrated in Holy Trinity Parish at Most Blessed Sacrament Church and interment took place at Mount Wollaston Cemetery.
