John H. Reuter, age 77, of Randolph, died peacefully, Monday, April 20, 2026 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.
John was born in Madison, Wisconsin, to the late John and Dolores Ann (Olson) Reuter. He was raised on a farm in Avoca, Wisconsin and began his early education in a one room school house before completing his schooling in Muscoda, Wisconsin. John had lived in Randolph for fifty years.
He was employed as a project manager in the telephone industry. He began his career with AT & T and later worked with the New England Telephone Company, NYNEX and Verizon, retiring in 2002 after thirty years of service.
John proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Sonar Technician Second Class during the Vietnam War. He received the USCG Unit Commendation Ribbon; the Vietnam Service Medal with one bronze star; the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Devise; National Defense Service Medal; the Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal; the Expert Pistol and Rifle Medals.
He enjoyed golfing with friends and family and was an avid Boston sports fan.
Most of all, John was devoted to his family, always supporting their many accomplishments.
Beloved husband for forty-eight years of Susan F. (Cullen) Reuter.
Devoted father of Nicholas J. Reuter of San Diego, California and Lindsay C. Reuter of Marlborough.
Loving grandfather of Neela Reuter.
One of five siblings, John was brother of Ellen and Ray, and predeceased by brothers Robert and James.
John is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and their families.
At the request of the family, funeral services were private.
