Joseph M. Campbell, Jr., age 69, of Holbrook, formerly of North Quincy, died peacefully, Monday, February 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Joseph was born in Milton, to the late Joseph M. and Mary (Keating) Campbell. Raised and educated in North Quincy, he was a graduate of Quincy Vocational-Technical School, Class of 1973. He later attended Northeastern University.
He lived in Holbrook for over forty-five years, previously in North Quincy.
Joe was employed as an electrical engineer for the Raytheon Company for over thirty years, working in Sudbury, Tewksbury, Andover, and Portsmouth, R.I. He had been retired for several years.
Joe was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing in the Weymouth Elks Golf League with his brother, Ed. He also liked fresh water fishing.
He relished spending time with his family and was devoted to his grandchildren, actively supporting their many activities and accomplishments.
Beloved husband for forty-six years of Laura (Dieso) Campbell.
Devoted father of Christine Cannon and her husband Stephen of Weymouth, Patrick Campbell and his wife Jamie of Braintree, Eric Campbell and his wife Maria of Chicago, Ill., and Joseph Campbell and Danijela of West Roxbury.
Loving grandfather of Maria, Charlie, Annie, and Noah Cannon; Patrick, Fiona, and Quinn Campbell; Cole and Caleb Campbell, Samantha and Amanda Martinez.
One of eight siblings, he was the dear brother of Marianne Dennis and her husband Walter of Pembroke, Maureen Welch and her husband Paul of Fla., Colleen Campbell of Quincy and her late husband Paul Skudris, Susan Marks and her husband Bob of Canton, Kathleen Campbell of Braintree, Edward Campbell and his wife Janet of East Bridgewater, and the late Eileen Campbell.
Joe is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and their families
Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Thursday, February 6, from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Divine Mercy Parish in Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock Street, North Quincy, on Friday, February 7, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy.
