Joseph M. Kawalansky, Jr., age 82, a lifelong resident of South Boston, died peacefully, Friday, April 25, 2025 at Tufts Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Joseph was born in Boston, to the late Joseph and Dorothy (Phipps) Kawalansky. He was raised and educated in South Boston and was proud to be a lifelong resident.

He was employed as a truck driver in the transportation industry for many years.

Joe was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.

He was a hard-working man and was dedicated to his family.

Beloved husband of the late Rosemarie (Francis) Kawalansky.

Devoted father of Roseann Davis of Maine and her late husband Duane, Dorothy Kawalansky of Maine, Sheila Jankewicz and her husband Wayne of Quincy, Joanne Kawalansky of Maine, twins Karen Kawalansky of Presque Isle, Maine, and Joseph M. Kawalansky III and his wife Linda of Washburn, Maine, and Heather Beauchamp and her husband Jason of Indiana.

Loving grandfather of sixty-four grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also grandfather of the late Michael Davis, Eric M. Davis, Sr., and Maryanne Kawalansky.

Dear brother of Joanne Linehan of Pembroke.

Joseph is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Graveside Services will be conducted at Center Cemetery, Oldham Street, Pembroke, on Tuesday, April 29, at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
