Josephine R. (Noe) Pattavina, age 93, a longtime resident of Quincy, died peacefully, Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Southwood at Norwell Nursing Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Josephine was born in Augusta, Province of Syracuse, Region of Sicily, Italy, to the late Joseph and Domenica (Sicari) Noe. Raised and educated there, she immigrated to the United States at the age of sixteen, settling in Boston’s West End. She lived in Quincy for seventy-five years.

She was a devoted homemaker and was known for her gourmet cooking.

Josephine and her late husband, Dante, were founding members of the organization that later became The Arc of the South Shore.

Most of all, Josephine was devoted to her family. She cherished time spent with them, and supporting the many activities and accomplishments of her grandchildren.

Beloved wife of the late Dante S. Pattavina.

Devoted mother of Isabella Pattavina of Norwell, Sylvia Pattavina of Quincy and West Yarmouth, Joseph Pattavina and his wife Barbara of Hingham, MaryAnn Tyack and her husband James of Quincy, and Rita P. Daddio of Norwell.

Loving grandmother of David Pattavina and his wife Michelle, Daniel Pattavina; Christina and Matthew Tyack; Joseph and Alexandra Daddio.

Cherished great grandmother of Dominic.

Dear sister of Joseph Noe and his wife Phyllis of Hingham, Frank Noe and his wife Lois of Connecticut.

Josephine is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Holy Trinity Parish at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 227 Sea Street, Quincy, on Monday, September 14, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment to follow at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
