  • Joy and her amigas bonding in NYC.

  • Joy was a great climate activist!

  • Dear Joy,

Remembering our times together standing at a rally, on the floor painting signs, or sitting in the Century House for dinner, brings a smile of Joy to my face. I know you are with us in spirit. Wish you could give us a little extra kick to get this Earth of ours healthy again. Perhaps you are! Yep, just felt that spring o desire from wherever you are!🙏❤️🙏

I will never forget as we left The Century House when you stopped and said, “Mary, I love you!.” It was a special moment and we hugged. That is who you are, Joy.

    Love,
    Mary

  • I was saddened to learn of Joy’s passing. She was one of the first persons to read and comment on my first book, which I so appreciated. Her environmental activism was only eclipsed by her kindness. We sure could use more Joy Gurrie’s in this complicated world.

  • The true definition of a “lady” = Joy Gurrie!
Gentle, caring, intelligent…I’m proud to have known her …she was a good friend!
