Louise M. Marshall, age 86

Louise M. (Caporale) Marshall, age 86, a lifelong resident of Quincy, died peacefully, Monday, September 2, 2024 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, in the comfort of her loving family.

Louise was born in Quincy, to the late Angela R. (Spinosa) and John A. Caporale, Sr. Raised and educated in Quincy, she was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1956.

She was employed as a ticketing agent for the Massachusetts State Lottery for eighteen years.

In the mid-1970s, Louise was proud to be the first woman elected to serve as a committee woman on the Massachusetts State Democratic Committee.

A woman of great faith, Louise was a lifelong and active parishioner of Saint Joseph Parish in Quincy Point, where she formed many lasting friendships. She was deeply devoted to her family, finding immense joy in supporting her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in all their activities and accomplishments.

Louise loved her traditions, especially Sunday dinners, and had a passion for cooking and hosting for everyone. An avid traveler, she delighted in exploring the world, with a particular fondness for cruises shared with friends and grandchildren celebrating their high school graduations. She spent many memorable moments in Aruba and cherished her years residing in Hollywood, Florida, where she made lifelong friends and embraced the sunshine.

Beloved wife of the late Clifford H. Marshall, High Sheriff of Norfolk County.

Devoted mother of Clifford H. “Chuck” Marshall III of Braintree, Michael J. Marshall, Sr. and his wife Patricia of Weymouth – whom she cherished as the daughter she never had, Paul S. Marshall of Hanover, and Christopher J. Marshall of Hingham.

Loving grandmother of Rachel Virtue and her husband Jordan, Julia Flaherty and her husband Sean, Clifford James Marshall, Grace Marshall, James Marshall, and Christina Marshall. She was also the dear grandmother of the late Michael J. Marshall, Jr.

Cherished great grandmother lovingly known as “Gigi” to Marshall, Maddox, Merrick, Michael, and Bennet.

The oldest and last of four siblings, Louise was predeceased by Madeleine Kenny, Barbara Chiasson, and John A. Caporale, Jr., Q.P.D., Retired. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.

She was also a cherished companion of Dave Condon for many wonderful years.

Visiting hours will be held in Saint Joseph Church, 550 Washington Street, Quincy, on Sunday, September 8, from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Joseph Church, 550 Washington Street, Quincy, on Monday, September 9, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

Louise was a wonderful person, very sweet and very kind with a “wicked” sense of humor. Louise was a delight to see every day and she always doted on her family . RIP Louise Marshall.
