Marie A. Russo, age 94
of Quincy
Marie A. (DiBona) Russo, age 94, a lifelong resident of Quincy, died peacefully, Thursday, June 11, 2026 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Marie was born in Quincy, to the late Augusto and Antonietta (Quintiliani) DiBona. Raised and educated there, she graduated from Quincy High School, Class of 1950. She was also a graduate of the Chandler School for Women in Boston.
Often referred to as a “woman of style”, Marie pursued a career in the retail and fashion industry. She was a longtime employee with the former Lord & Taylor at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree. Hired when the store opened in 1979, she worked tirelessly for thirty-six years, retiring at the age of eighty-four. Her employment at Lord & Taylor, where she made many friendships, brought her immense joy and satisfaction. She was known for her vibrant personality and exceptional customer service.
Marie was a woman of great faith with a nurturing soul, and was a lifelong parishioner of Saint John the Baptist Church in Quincy. She shared seventy-three beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Dick. Together they built a home filled with love and laughter as they raised their five children. Marie was truly the heart of her home and her family, the one everyone turned to. Her kitchen was always filled with warmth, good conversation, and the comforting aroma of her cooking.
Invariably more than a wife and mother, she was a best friend. Marie was intelligent with a great sense of humor, very independent, kind, strong, and happiest when surrounded by her family. Her good business sense and knack for finance was an asset in helping to manage the family business, the Lincoln Granite Company, which she co-owned with her late husband, Dick. She will be sadly missed, yet her spirit will continue to guide all those who knew and loved her.
Beloved wife of the late Richard M. “Dick” Russo, the love of her life.
Devoted mother of Lynne D’Andrea and her husband Jim, Wayne Russo and his wife Debbie, Charlene Bonome and her partner Paul Beston, Rick Russo, and Annette Russo.
Adoring grandmother of Lea, Daniele, Derek, and Scott and cherished great grandmother of Hailey, Aliyah, Anthony, and Dylan.
Loving sister of Benjamin DiBona and the late Louis DiBona.
Dear cousin of Maria DiBona.
