I was fortunate enough to train both your Mom & Dad at the Quincy Y, and enjoyed their friendship immensely.
I am grateful to have had them in my life and will always keep the memories in my heart.

  • Dear Scott and Alex and family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Your mother was everything you ever wanted in a mom and friend. I loved it when she and your dad would come to the Wakeham’s porch while Paul and I visited. We always had so much fun. When I returned to college in my adult years, she was so supportive and encouraging.
May she rest in peace and enjoy her reunion with your dad and the Wakehams……truly a Wellville in Heaven!
Sincerely , Joanne and Paul Price

  • To Scott, Alexander and family members. It is with deep sorrow that my husband and I extend our condolences to you. I became concerned when our yearly Christmas Card to the Florida address was returned. Since then, I have been trying to get in touch with Sue. It was only this morning that I was informed about her passing.
I first met Sue when the College was going through its accreditation process as I was a member of the NEASC Team. Little did know that upon my retirement from the Community College System of Maine a few years later, that I would wind up at Quincy as the VP for Academic Affairs.
My years at Quincy was truly a highlight in my career. Working for Sue was an absolute joy. She was a marvelous President-completely devoted to the institution, the staff, and most of all the students. In return, Sue was beloved by all of us. She was willing to try new ideas and was a mentor to many staff members.
My husband, Phil, and I had an opportunity to spend some quality time with Sue and Richard one winter in their Florida residence. After Sue’s retirement I stayed at Quincy for a few more months and then I too retired. Sue and I had a couple of reunions in Boston and of course kept in touch by phone. Our conversations usually centered around family and friends from the Quincy days.
I feel privileged to have know and worked with this remarkable woman and will cherish the wonderful memories. May you rest in peace dear friend.
