Mary was born in Boston, to the late Phillip and Winifred (Flaherty) Belmont. Raised and educated in South Boston, she attended South Boston High School. She was the beloved wife of the late James Perdios for 68 years. They started their life together in South Boston, but moved to Quincy Point in 1968. They lived in Quincy until 2022, when they moved to Linden Ponds in Hingham. James passed just two months ago on March 5, 2026.
Devoted mother of Steve Perdios and his wife Courtney of Quincy, Don Perdios and his wife Denise of Braintree, David Perdios and his wife Sarale of Weymouth, and Daniel Perdios and his husband James Egan of Wareham. Loving grandmother of Marc, Kyle, Karoline, Ally, Kevin, Cass, MJ, and Hannah.
Second oldest of nine siblings, she was the dear sister of the late Elizabeth Harmon and her late husband George, the late Winifred Belmont, the late Irene Quigley and her late husband Edward, the late Philip Belmont, the late Nancy Belmont, Dorothy Loring and her husband Paul, the late Stephen Belmont and his wife Jean, and Judy Belmont. Longtime friend and neighbor of Sharon Deitsch.
Family was the focal point of Mary’s life. Her husband, her siblings, her children, and her grandchildren defined her life. She loved family gatherings, especially when family came over for a big Sunday Italian dinner. She loved nurturing her grandchildren. She was a great cook and an avid reader. She had a flair for the dramatic and a great sense of humor, often teasing with a gentle poke or a sarcastic quip. She loved being the center of attention and telling a good story.
Mary and James bought a vacation home in Centerville in the 1980s and spent twenty years of summers fixing up the house and enjoying time at Craigsville Beach. Mary loved the beach, whether it was “The Lagoon” in South Boston as a kid growing up, Nantasket Beach when her kids were young, or Cape Cod beaches with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
