Norman Leslie Roberts, age 89, of Clinton, died peacefully, Thursday, May 15, 2025 at UMass Memorial Health Alliance – Clinton Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Norman was reunited in death with his late wife, Arlene, on what would have been their wedding anniversary.
Norman was born in Quincy, to the late George and Pearl (Trotman) Roberts. Raised and educated in Quincy, he was a graduate of Quincy High School. He was also a graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering where he finished at the top of his class.
He lived in Clinton for the past six years, previously in Stow for six years, and earlier in Duxbury, Weymouth, and Braintree.
Norman was proud to have served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict aboard the USS Manatee (AO-58), a Cimarron-class fleet replenishment oiler, and the USS Alfred A. Cunningham (DD-752), an Allen M. Sumner-class destroyer. He received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and China Service Medal.
Norman enjoyed a long, rewarding career as an electrical engineer, working for General Electric and later, for RCA on the Apollo space program. He had been retired for many years.
Norman was devoted to his late wife, Arlene. They enjoyed traveling together.

Dear brother of Kenneth Roberts, James Roberts, both of Florida, and the late George Roberts, Jr.
Norman is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and their families.
Memorial Funeral Services will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Saturday, May 31, at 11 a.m., with military honors to follow. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Memorial Visitation prior to the service from 10 – 11 a.m.
The family kindly requests that flowers be omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norman’s memory may be made to MSPCA-Angell, Attn: Donations, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130, in honor of Norman’s love for animals, especially his late cat, Margaret.
