Robert B. Hoxie, age 73, a lifelong resident of Quincy, died suddenly, Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

Bob was born, raised, and educated in Quincy. He was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1973.

Bob was employed as a lens grinder for King Optical Co. in Braintree for many years.

He enjoyed bowling and playing pool, and was an avid Boston sports fan. Bob also enjoyed music and had an interest in meteorology.

Beloved son of the late Herbert D. and Anna N. (Swenson) Hoxie.

Lifelong friend of Mark Iverson and his family.

In accordance with his wishes, services are private.

    So sorry to hear a Bob’s passing grew up with him through Church, his mom and dad very good friends with my mom RIP

    Bob was a devoted and loving son. He lived out his faith. He worked with his dad in his printing business until his dad’s death in 1994. Bob later worked at King Optical. He was attentive to his mother in her later years, spending time with her each day in the care facility until her death in 2014 at the age of 100. Thank you, Bob, a good and faithful man.

    Eternal rest grant unto Bob, O God,
    and let perpetual light shine upon him.
    May his soul and the souls of all the departed,
    through the mercy, love, and grace of God,
    rest in peace and rise in glory. Amen.

    So sorry for the loss of Bob. Went to high school with him at Quincy high. He was a great guy in high school.. so sad to hear the news. I will let my classmates know.. sadly missed forever in your heart
