  • Had the pleasure of meeting with Mr Devin while working at the NH where his wife Janet resides. He talked about his wife with much affection and was there seven days a week morning and night to bring her food he would prepare for her. We talked much about people in Braintree we once knew, etc. Robert will surely be missed. God Bless his wife and family.

  • My mother and father, Fred and Gin, adored Bob. He was a great friend to the family. Much love and best wishes to the Devin Family.

  • Please accept my heartfelt condolences on you loss. I’m a regular at Cronins as was Bob. He was an ornery SOB but I very much liked and respected him. Cronins will never be the same without him sitting in the keno corner. RIP Bob. I’ll miss you.
    Don from Cronins

  • So sorry to hear about Bobs passing I have very fond memories of working with him in the police department we clerked together when I was pregnant with my second son and we had alot of laughs in control. He actually gave me his tie clip when he retired and I still have it. I also have the Christmas decoration of the angel he gave me one Christmas. Again so sorry for your loss.

  • Deepest sympathies to the Devin family.

  • Anyone who knew Bob knew how competitive he was, no matter whether it was
Golf, Cards, Arguments, etc. For five years when I was younger (much younger),
I spent two weeks during those Summers at 201 Jefferson Ave., hanging out with
Bob, Jackie and Phil. Being much younger I probably learned things ahead of
my age. Even though I was younger I was blessed with very good athletic abilities,
especially speed. Phil, his buddies and me would compete against Bobby, Jackie,
and their buddies in tag football and softball and we always won,, year after year.
This PO’D Bobby and it took him years before we had a decent relationship.
Bobby was a great golfer as well all know but there were times when Phil and I would beat Bobby and his partner, which really angered him. Of course I was getting all kinds of strokes because I was not that good. Phil would rise to the
occasion because it was Bobby and I would chip in. This really got to Bobby and
it was not until he retired, when I gifted him two dozen golf balls as a retirement
gift that the ice melted between us. I spent many days at The Sons of Italy
with Bobby, Jack and Phil, playing cards and having a few Grogs. The last three years Bobby and I would meet at The Goal Post in Quincy, having lunch etc.
We both looked forward to these get-togethers. I will miss Bobby, Jackie, and
Phil. RIP All three of you. Love, Cousin Bill Devin, Lynn

  • Boys,
We are so sorry to hear about your father. We go way back with him to the Little League and Braintree Youth Hockey days. We, also, remember giving him jars of pennies for him to sort them out and find the ones that were important.
Again, our hearts go out to you!
    Love,
    GiGi and Mickey
