Rosalie M. “Rose” (Deveau) Comeau, age 87, of Quincy, died peacefully, Thursday, July 9, 2026 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, surrounded by her loving family.
Rosalie was born in Church Point, Nova Scotia, Canada, to the late Fred and Pauline (Belliveau) Comeau. Raised and educated there, she immigrated to the United States in 1959, settling in Quincy, where she lived for over sixty-seven years.
Rose was a devoted homemaker and mother. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and baking. She cherished time spent with her family and was especially proud and supportive of her grandchildren.
Beloved wife of the late Angus J. Comeau.
Devoted mother of Brian J. Comeau and his wife Donna of Meteghan River, Nova Scotia, Canada, Lisa M. Nickerson and her husband George of Quincy.
Loving grandmother of Carla M. Nickerson.
Cherished great grandmother of twins Bryann and Bryce Nickerson, Addison Graham.
Dear sister of Yvonne Schofield of Canada, Shirley Lane of Florida, and the late Louise Deveau. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Wednesday, July 15, from 4 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Holy Trinity Parish at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 237 Sea Street, Quincy, on Thursday, July 16, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
