Rose M. Pilgrim, age 91

Rose M. (Richardi) Pilgrim, age 91, a longtime resident of Milton, died peacefully, Sunday, May 11, 2025 at her daughter’s home in Pocasset, surrounded by her loving family.

Rose was born in Weymouth, to the late Louis and Antonetta (Cieri) Richardi. Raised and educated in Braintree, she was a graduate of Braintree High School. She lived in Milton for the past sixty-two years.

Rose was employed by New England Telephone Company, later Bell Atlantic, for twenty-five years and had been retired for many years.

She was a former active member of the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour in East Milton.

Rose enjoyed her cottage in Maine with family and friends, the Fryeburg Fair, and an occasional visit to the casino. She looked forward to planning holidays at her home. Most of all, Rose was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved participating in their activities, celebrations, and accomplishments.

Beloved wife of the late William Pilgrim.

Devoted mother of Cheryl A. Mattucci and her husband Neil of Naples, Fla., Kathleen M. Bodjiak and her husband Robert of Pocasset, Patricia M. Turkington and her husband Stephen of Merrimack, N.H., and William E. Pilgrim and his wife Christine of York, Pa.

Loving grandmother of Stephanie Bodjiak, Brian Bodjiak and his wife Pauliana; Jayne Cartlidge and her husband Jordan, Lauren Turkington; Nicole Squartino and her husband Giovanni, John Mattucci and his wife Almendra; William, Gracie, and Daniel Pilgrim.

Cherished great grandmother of Delilah Cartlidge and Miller Rose Squartino.

The last of five siblings, she was predeceased by Rocco Richardi, Edmund Richardi, Evelyn Pellegrino, and Anne Warren.

Rose is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Monday, May 19, from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 20, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

  • So sorry for your loss. She was a wonderful lady so sweet and kind. My sister Lynn used to love going to her both homes for visits. You are all in my thoughts .

  • Speaking for our entire widows/widowers group, we will all greatly miss our dear Rose. She was a wonderful friend to all of us and we enjoyed her lovely smile and happy company through the years. We all met about 25 years ago at New Beginnings in Norwell. It was a sad time for all of us but our group was formed and we are still special friends. Rose will always be in our hearts and prayers. Missing you dear Rose, till we meet again. With all our love.
