Thomas F. Pecoraro, age 67, a lifelong resident of Quincy, died peacefully, Monday, August 31, 2026 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief illness.

Tom was born and raised in Quincy, and was a graduate of Quincy Trade School.

Tom was a master plumber and served as the Chief Plumbing and Gas Inspector for the City of Quincy’s Inspectional Services Department. He loved his job and cherished the many friendships he made throughout his thirty-year career with the city.

He was a member of the South Shore Plumbing and Gas Inspectors Association, the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts, and the South Quincy Bocce Club.

Tom was always full of life. He loved being near the ocean and summering at White Horse Beach. He also enjoyed lobstering, cooking, and entertaining. Most of all, he cherished time spent with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

Devoted father of Thomas F. Pecoraro, Jr. and his wife Maria, Taylor M. Baggett and her husband Liam, all of Quincy.

Loving grandfather of Marcie, Delia, and Alexander.

Cherished son of the late Francis H. “Fran” and Mary W. “Dolly” (Cavicchi) Pecoraro.

Dear brother of Marcia A. Schlager and her husband James of Quincy, the late Marilyn G. Tausevich and her surviving husband Ronald of Quincy.

Much-loved uncle of James F. Schlager and his wife Deborah of Quincy, Thomas J. Schlager and his wife Domenica of Wellesley, and great uncle of Brielle, Nevaeh, and Dean.

Former husband of Maria M. (Toledo) Pecoraro of Quincy.

Tom is also survived by his dear friend, Amy Pereira of Plymouth, as well as many extended family members, friends, and colleagues.

Visiting Hours will be held at Divine Mercy Parish in Saint Mary’s Church, 95 Crescent Street, West Quincy, on Thursday, September 3, from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Divine Mercy Parish in Saint Mary’s Church on Friday, September 4, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, West Quincy.
